New Capital Link- Covering Their Tracks

Following the release of our widely-read blog, New Capital Link – Enablers Part 1, in December 2024, Insolvency & Law (I&L) experienced a cyber-attack. Fortunately, our systems were swiftly restored. Given the timing and nature of the attack, we strongly suspect that New Capital Link (NCL) was behind it, likely in retaliation for our exposure of James Harper, also known as James Baird—a convicted financial fraudster.

Our initial investigation uncovered the questionable nature of the Loan Note products being marketed to unsuspecting investors, prompting further scrutiny of NCL’s activities.

Developments Since Christmas

Since December, I&L has continued investigating various Loan Note opportunities promoted by NCL. Our findings on The Clean Food Company, Ashbrookes, Aventurine Climate, and Northumberland Living Alnwick can be reviewed in detail through the links provided.

NCL, on the other hand, has been busy making significant changes to their website, possibly to cover their tracks. Notably, James Harper appears to have been removed from the company. Additionally, new blog posts have been published, seemingly in an attempt to manipulate Google rankings and discredit our work.

One particularly telling example is their blog at a URL that mentions WH2022. WH2022 Ltd is one of Billy Jackson’s companies, which trades under the name Aventurine Climate, a subject of our previous reports.  One particularly telling example is their blog about WH2022 Ltd. WH2022 Ltd is one of Billy Jackson’s
companies, which trades under the name Aventurine Climate, a subject of our current investigations.

The URL wording is /is-wh2022-limited-a-scam. This wording of the URL is intriguing, particularly
given our findings on William Jacksons business history which can be found here, and our latest blog
which is due for release shortly.

Misleading and Contradictory Blog Content

Another NCL blog post titled “Northumberland Living Developments / The Truth about West Chevington Farm” claims to clarify relationships between Castle Trust Management, Northumberland Living Developments, WH2022 Ltd, and Alnwick Ltd. However, upon review, we found inconsistencies and errors in their reporting.

““the role between Castle Trust Management and the relationship with Northumberland Living developments”, and then “Relationship between Northumberland Living, WH2022 Ltd and Alnwick Ltd

  • The blog misdirects readers by linking Alnwick Ltd to an unrelated company. Rather than Northumberland Living Alnwick Ltd, the actual entity in question.
  • It fails to acknowledge the long-standing issues with Billy Jackson’s Loan Note opportunities, which we have covered extensively.

Additionally, the content is poorly written, full of grammatical errors, and contradicts itself. A notable excerpt states:

“Castle Trust—the role and responsibility of a security trustee is to provide crucial legal protection for investors in fundraising transactions… Unfortunately, Castle Trust had unforeseen issues and was unable to continue to act as our trustee on this project. As a result, we have had to ensure our loan note holders have peace of mind with regular updates on the success of the development and the exit strategy has not changed.”

This statement is problematic for several reasons:

  • It first emphasises the importance of a security trustee.
  • It omits the fact that Castle Trust & Management Services Ltd was wound up by Gibraltar courts in 2023.
  • It misleadingly suggests that investor security remains intact simply through updates, ignoring the legal implications of the trustee’s collapse.

For a company seeking to reassure investors, this explanation does little to inspire confidence.

Further research uncovered another deceptive tactic. NCL has been flooding the internet with irrelevant blog posts mentioning James Harper and James Baird. This has been done in an obvious attempt to push down our content in search results.

For instance:

  • One article describes “James Harper, former Business Development Manager at New Capital Link” and “James E Baird, Solicitor” collaborating to enhance investor protections. However, we suspect that the real James E Baird, Solicitor has no connection to NCL. However, we have contacted him for verification.
  • Another article references James Baird as an international coach and James Harper as a footballer at Reading FC. This falsely links these names to unrelated industries while distancing them from financial fraud.  Whilst it is true there is an international coach called James Baird and a Reading footballer called James Harper, one strongly suspects they are being used as part of NCL’s tactics to bury the truth.

These SEO tactics indicate a clear intent to manipulate online perception. Rather than address the serious concerns raised about NCL’s operations.

Many of NCL’s new blog posts focus on ventures linked to William Jackson. This heavily reinforces the notion that these parties are working together. Given Jackson’s own history with questionable investment schemes, this association further erodes NCL’s credibility.

The cyber-attack, misleading counter-blogs, and poor attempts at reputation management only strengthen our belief that NCL is actively trying to conceal the truth. While Rachel Buscall may be the current face of NCL, she is complicit in covering up James Baird’s fraudulent history. Along with the sale of dubious Loan Note products. Her involvement makes her an accessory to deception.
