If You Are a Loan Note Holder, Your Experience Matters

If you invested in loan notes issued by the 79th Group, please take a few minutes to complete an Investor Reliance Questionnaire. And if you know another loan note holder who hasn’t completed one yet, please forward the questionnaire link to them too. Every response matters.
The purpose of the questionnaire is to build a clearer picture of what investors were told, what gave them confidence, and what they relied upon when deciding to invest. No two investors had the same experience. That is precisely why hearing from as many loan note holders as possible is so important.
Why is the Reliance Questionnaire important?
When an investment fails, one of the key questions is not simply how much was invested or what return was expected? It is: what persuaded people to invest in the first place?
A significant number of completed questionnaires have already been reviewed, and they reveal that investors’ decisions were often based on much more than the headline return. Repeated themes include:
- governance and oversight structures
- legal documentation and security arrangements
- the belief that investments were backed by tangible assets
- confidence created by the apparent involvement of professionals
- recommendations from people investors already knew or trusted
- an overall impression that the opportunity was credible, professionally managed, and appropriately structured
For many investors, these factors appear to have provided reassurance. It is important to understand that reassurance. Your recollection could add an important piece to the picture. An individual questionnaire is one person’s recollection, but patterns emerge when several independent investors describe similar experiences.
Those patterns do not, by themselves, establish liability or prove that a particular representation was made. However, they can provide valuable evidence and insight into the factors that genuinely influenced investors’ decisions. That is why participation is important. Your experience may be similar to that of other investors. It may be completely different. Either way, it is relevant.
What did you rely upon?
- What gave you confidence when you made your investment?
- Was it the involvement of a solicitor, trustee, accountant or another professional?
- Was it the security you believed existed?
- Were you reassured by property or other underlying assets?
- Did the investment appear safer because of the inclusion of formal documents, governance arrangements, or trustees?
- Were you introduced by somebody you already knew and trusted?
- Did marketing materials, conversations, or other information influence your decision?
- Or was there something else entirely?
The questionnaires reviewed so far suggest that investors rarely relied upon one factor alone. Decisions were often influenced by a combination of trust, professional credibility, governance, recommendations, and perceived security, alongside the expected financial return. Your questionnaire helps establish whether those themes were also relevant to you.
Please complete the questionnaire – even if you think others have already said the same thing
So, if you are a 79th Group loan note holder and have not yet completed an Investor Reliance Questionnaire, we strongly encourage you to do so.

Please help us reach other loan note holders. There may be investors who do not follow our updates, have not seen previous communications, or are simply unaware that the questionnaire is available. You can help. If you know anyone who:
- invested in 79th Group loan notes
- may have invested through a recommendation or introduction
- is part of an investor group or network
- may otherwise be affected
Please forward this article and the questionnaire link to them. They can then decide for themselves whether to participate. The more loan note holders who are aware of the questionnaire, the more complete the overall picture can become.
